Open~ Polar Shift

“Turn on the news!” Sally shouted as she ran down a flight of stairs into the room where the television was. She stopped at the door, hair messy and skin paler than a piece of bleached paper. 

In news today, scientists predict that there will be a polar shift within the next month. What does this mean for Britain and how can we come together in this time of need? More at 10.

“Stupid newscasters...,”She mumbled under her breath after the announcement,”Don’t they think we need to know that when the poles shift there’s a good chance that either we can die from heat or freezing over? ...What does it mean for Britain... pffft. It means we better get our asses in gear.”

‘What do you think?” Sally turned to the other wearing a rather flamboyant teal colored hat with a plume of maroon feathers dotted on the side. It was in the style of a flapper type hat.

Sally stood at the opening of a grey running path through a tight line of trees. She’d heard that people had stopped running there some time ago due to owl attacks. It was a strange thing, owl attacks. She wondered what had brought it on.

“Your coffee is getting cold you know,” Sally mumbled into her giant blue and red polka dotted coffee cup that was now half-full.
