One thing that we all worry about is money. As much as possible, parents do not let their children know about their money troubles, but in some cases, the children are faced with the responsibility to solve them. If one does not struggle with money, they worry about how earning money in the future. Whatever the situation is, money motivates us, and it causes more trouble than enrichment.
Even before a person is born, money is required. Pregnant women, married or not, make sure that their children are cared for. It requires expenses like doctor’s checkups, ultrasounds, pre-natal vitamins, and healthy food. They also have to worry about things for when the baby is born like clothes, diapers, and doctor’s appointments (again). Despite the importance of those expenses, it can cause stress to the parents. Instead of focusing on how exciting and beautiful pregnancy can be, they worry about earning money instead. It can be mentally and physically stressful for a pregnant woman if they are the ones earning money themselves. If they have a partner, the stress can affect their relationship. In the end, money is something that can trouble one’s journey into parenthood.
One needs money to get education. Whatever educational level, students need to pay for tuition fees. Of course, there are expenses that can go on throughout the school year like supplies, food, and co-curricular activities. These expenses are important to finish school, but worrying about paying for them can affect students’ educational development. If their parents are earning the money, they may not have time to be more involved in their children’s assignments and responsibilities at school. In some cases, the children see the stress that their parents face and feel guilty for causing it. In the end, their mental and emotional stability can wither. Education, despite its importance in one’s development, stresses people out since it requires expenses.
Adulthood is when people really worry about money. With the responsibilities and desires that adults have, they need more and more money. There are inevitable expenses like rent or mortgage, utilities, and food, while others can be flexible like clothes, vacations, and hobbies. No matter what they are, they are something that adults just have to deal with. They can be pleasant, but keeping up with them can be too much for adults. In the end, they only focus on earning money to pay for them.
Despite the importance of money to move our lives forward, they can be very stressful to everyone. Our view on money should change. It does not mean we should stop dealing with money, but it shouldn't be the priority. Money is not the answer to everything.
