Goon is now out with her mama - Mulan, in Skrow troop main enclosure. The plan was to wait a few more weeks, till Goon was a little older, but things don't always go as planned. Yesterday afternoon, the rope that operates the small door which allows monkeys in and out of the intro cage got stuck in a piece of wire on the fence, a complete freak accident, which caused the door to be stuck open and allowed Mulan to run out with Goon latched to her belly. Staff has been on constant watch, monitoring Goon. So far things are looking alright, Goon's been eating foods, drinking from the tap and climbing with her new moms to the tops of the highest trees. But staff is still trying to get Goon to visit the feeding cages so that she can drink her milk. The issue is that the mothers don't want to let Goon out of their sight, so anytime Goon tries to run off to the feeding cage, the moms snatch her back up again and take her away into the shaded parts in the center of the enclosure. The fear, is that with the mothers trading Goon between themselves, and holding her so tightly, Goon won't have a chance to drink and could become dehydrated. But only time will tell what happens and we're all hoping for the best. Jake has very refined taste. He has now been moved into Disneyland with - Epona, Felicia, Scotty and Deebo and he couldn't be happier. As soon as he learns the feeding cage he'll be moving in to Skrow with Kate and Goon, so that he can meet the foster mums and prepare for troop life. Which volunteers couldn't be happier about, since Jake is one of those babies who just loves to wake up every two hours at night, and decides that it's time to play, so he proceeds to wake up the other four orphans, which is trouble, cause they all have their own specific sleeping habits and pet peeves (like Scottie - the queen of jealousy) and the humans are then left, bleary eyed, to coax the little monkeys back into their blankets. #vervetforest #trouble #monkeylove #monkeyproblems #vmf #monkey #vervet #wildlife #portrait #baby #igdaily #instagood #instalove #love #cute #classical #wanderlust #animallovers #naturelovers #notpets

Today Finn met his troop. Of course, at first, he ran screaming like a baby away from his foster mothers as they entered his enclosure. But now he's fine and has been claimed by Luka of KoKo troop. It's exciting, and there will be some videos in the coming days, but for now - here's Finn, Learning to jump up and grab a rope.
