Perhaps survival has never been about power alone.
Perhaps it has always been about something less glamorous.
The Theory of Humble Systems begins with a simple observation:
Everything that thinks pays a price for thinking.
Artificial intelligence does.
And because energy is limited, every intelligent system must make choices.
Maybe nature itself follows this rule.
Pierre-Louis Maupertuis proposed that nature chooses the path of least action.
But what if complex systems are really minimizing something even simpler?
Perhaps civilizations collapse when they forget their limits.
Perhaps organizations fail when ego consumes more energy than purpose.
Perhaps intelligence itself is not measured by how much power a system has, but by how wisely it spends that power.
And perhaps humility is not merely a moral virtue.
Perhaps humility is a survival strategy.
Can humility be understood as a mathematical principle rather than merely a human value?
