Hi I want to say how much I love you AU. And I was wondering who/what was the inspiration for Blindspots ?
hi! thanks <3 and sorry we havent really been continuing this thing orz we got busy and stuff.
it started with a “what if” kinda thing that i brought up with @qookyquiche it was something like “since the transformation helps boost abilities, what if it also boosts senses?” the original idea wasnt even Adrien, really, it was “what if there was a past cat miraculous holder who was blind, and it gave them heightened senses a la daredevil?” (so i guess you could say DareDevil was partly the inspiration hahaha)
and we sort of just ran away with it. we also really liked the idea of having their crushes reversed (their crushes! not their personalities!) and it was a lot of fun throwing ideas back and forth, it snowballed into an AU. then we dragged in meg (aka laundromatic) to write it.
i just have to say this though: the idea was never to make something angsty, or romanticize the disability. we just wanted to explore how the dynamics would change. we wanted to try and explore what else the miraculous (and it’s holder) could be capable of, sticking to the idea that anyone can be a hero.
making light of people’s experiences, and exploiting their struggles for “angst” and/or “drama” was not the intention, and is something we were careful to avoid.
