Short, Fat and Monobrows.
There are three words that I will use to describe Chileans: short, fat and mono-brows.
Sounds horrible, but what do you expect when all they eat is meat and cheese? (Not that I was complaining!)
First, we spent a week in Santiago.
There was so much more wealth in Santiago than I expected.
The streets are clean and it felt more like a European town rather than a part of South America.
Then we travelled down south and spent a week in a small town called Puerto Varas where we rode horses and went zip lining.
We were then taken to a delightful little steak house over looking the river.
The man and I ate the most delicious steaks, which is when he came up with this ‘insightful’ response,
“Tastes so good my mouth hurts”.
(That was one of those palm to face kind of moments.)
Even so, he decided to stick to this notion. For the whole evening in fact.
After consuming enough food to feed a large Chilean army, we were offered a substance known to some as, “sweet bread.”
Now, being in a foreign country, I would never turn down something that is being offered to me by a local for fear of offending.
So I start piling up my plate with these soggy looking things and start getting stuck into them.
Half way through devouring my entire plate, it occurred that I had no idea what made this “sweet bread” so chewy, so I decided to ask.
The entire table first looked confused and then erupted into laughter.
This is when I learned what I was actually eating…

What is with this new trend of really bushy, thickly drawn eyebrows.. I know Madonna used to rock that look but there's a reason it didn't last...
Jesus, mine are naturally like this but I just don't wax or pluck them. And my sister made fun of how thick they were lol :P
