Today Is the Way You Eat
Single Effect: Monopolize Draw
MLB Effect: Monopolize Draw
Effect Definitions:
Monopolize Draw will replace that turns’ current discs with the equipped character’s own discs.
TLDR: “Today Is the Way You Eat” is okay. It’s worth keeping being able to setup a puella combo is always useful, but there are also better memoria in the game to equip according to your Final Oriko’s needs.
Review: This is a personal memoria for Oriko Mikuni (Final ver.). “Today Is the Way You Eat” is okay. It doesn’t define Final Oriko’s gameplay and you don’t need to have it equipped for her to be useful, but it’s not terrible to have on hand either.
Final Oriko is very similar to Vampire Kanagi in that she’s an excellent solo-fighter. She can spend her first two turns with 100% passive Evade and then keeping Evading after that with careful usage of her Doppel and Magia. This makes her very powerful and a good candidate for battles where you can feasibly use one character (for example, Witches’ Paradox, Mirrors, and perhaps the Battle Museum).
In these cases, “Today Is the Way You Eat” is completely useless. You don’t need to draw her discs because you’ll never have anything but her discs, so this memoria does nothing for you.
Of course, the majority of the game isn’t spent using one character, so how about outside of that? Well, being able to use Final Oriko’s discs on demand is useful as it will help her gain MP (using Accele - Charge - Accele discs), and her damage output is great enough that using this memoria might help you murder some enemies quickly. Additionally, her personal can help set up powerful puella combos, especially when one considers that it gives Attack Up and Critical Hit.
But is this the best memoria to use over others? Despite having passive MP Regen, Final Oriko’s MP generation is poor. A memoria like “Like This Since When” might be more helpful instead-- or what if you want to increase Final Oriko’s damage when she uses her Doppel? You may feel compelled to equip “Melancholy with Daybreak” as opposed to her personal.
Of course, if your Final Oriko is four-slotted, you’ll have room for two actives. But while “Today Is the Way You Eat” can be useful, it’s not arguably the best memoria to equip in most situations. Again though-- it’s not bad. It’s just not a must-use.
This memoria isn’t critical to max awaken. It’s effects don’t change from a single copy to a max awakened one besides its cooldown changing from 5 to 4-- very impressive, but 5 is already low enough that you don’t need to use Over Limiters on it unless you really want to guarantee Final Oriko’s discs are available to you every four turns.
