Here, I'm saying it: I'm homesick for Winston-Salem. This was a two-night benefit show for the local children's hospital that was all CBGB-related tribute acts comprised of local musicians. My friend Tim (drumming here) played the Television set and the B-52s set back to back the second night, and was the Martin Rev to my Alan Vega the first night.

The video doesn't lie, the room and PA sound like ass, but the energy is always infectious and people are lovely and kind. Many are extremely talented.

My buddy has a bar not too far away from me and its called Monstercade which is a little slice of heaven. Or hell. It is a little reminiscent of the movie Monster Club.
