Rapid evolution for certain kaiju sometimes requires absorbing another monster's energy in order to give them stronger abilities and powers or absorbing a lot of energy within many, many years. However, a side effect of absorbing another monster's atomic energy for this is increased or just outright savage aggression, especially towards other kaiju, reducing the newly 'evolved' kaiju to just blind, raging brutes.

It's only when this absorbed energy is dispersed will they come to their senses and turn back to normal before they cause more harm than good.

This occurrence has since been dubbed as the 'Wingardian Effect': Reducing a character to either a brute blinded by rage and a plot device, such as what happened to Godzilla in the latest Monsterverse film.

Dexter and Bart really should've considered these side effects before rapidly evolving themselves.

Headcanon idea: At times when he needs to, he can ‘half transform’ and use something known as his ‘Monster voice’.

Aka the loud, thunderous and growly voice he gains when in kaiju mode. Certainly enough to make a bully shiver in their timbers.
