When a space fairy is created is there anything that influences the type of unique powers or physical characteristics they might have? like do the types of faeries that perform the ritual or how close the egg is to a sun/planet have any affect on them, or is it more of a random draw when it comes to traits?
Oh man this is a very good question...
There are a number of things that influence a Space Fairy’s characteristics!
1: The Mother Swarm - The swarm that brings the fairy to life often consist of hundreds of fairies, although smaller swarms exist as well, and they all have a hand in giving tiny bits of themselves to the newborn. Mainly in the shape of magical abilities.
2: The Space Rock - The rock the fairy is incubated in that will turn into an egg has a lot of influence on the fairy’s appearance, depending on the rock’s colors, shape, minerals and what planet or moon it may come from and so on. Often the rocks picked out are rich in minerals and gems.
3: The Surroundings - Where in space it is definitely have influence. A fairy close to a star may glow brighter than its peers, and fairies close to inhabited lands with life-forms often take on some traits of the flora and fauna of the planet, and a fairy hatched in empty space - far from any planet and star - often ends up unusually colorless and dark but with glowing specks like the starry sky around them.
