Monthly spending: July-Aug
I have no idea what we’ll spend money on next month. At this point, we’ve moved, changed up a bunch of household furniture, and have upgraded to the fastest internet available (150Mbps), just because we can, and why not? (Despite my earlier assertions that we wouldn’t.)
The main change was the addition of a personal chef to make lunch and dinner for 2 people for 6 days for 2 weeks. We’ll be continuing that service, for sure. Money well spent, and it’s only about 2x what it would cost to eat out for most meals, but much, much healthier.
$40,000 allowance:
$6,000 - Paid off Tesla P85D
$13,400 - Household stuff (post-move)
$1,200 - Personal chef
$3,500 - Misc stuff (eating out, little purchases, etc.)
$6,700 - Travel (visited some friends in Southern CA, and splurged for first class)
$9,200 into savings
Current net worth: $62.1M
This is the highest net worth we’ve had since life got weird in April, and is only about $50K off our peak. Even doing the math, this is so fucked up: we’ve spent about $370,000 since April, and our net worth is only down by $50K, and will find a new high sometime later this year, assuming nothing crazy happens in the market.
