November 4, 2019...part 1

Our first full day of our mini vacation. Our first stop was Monument Rocks, only about twenty minutes from our campsite. My wife (@laughinghorse ) and I visited two years ago, but wanted to share the beauty with my mom. She seemed to really enjoy herself! We also got to bring our dog this time, as well.

Monument Rocks 6.12.17

It had been a long week and I work in a job that has times when it’s busy and other times it’s extremely slow.  Work is about to get crazy and I was looking to escape and take pictures of the full moon that was supposed to be out.  I got an email from Gail telling me he was going to go to Monument Rocks just south of Oakley, KS.  I am always amazed  that I have lived so close to them for so many years and only took the time to first visit about a year ago.  They are majestic. Just being away from work and spending time with someone that matters was a perfect way to end a long week.

2nd MAG TODAY!! This is a photo of the chalk pyramids/monument rocks of western Kansas. They are one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas. Very interesting place to visit. Strange to be in a place that’s so flat and happen upon 70 foot pieces of chalk!
