North Carolina republicans introduced hb-533 today which is a total abortion ban. It bans abortion from the time of conception.

It goes in effect July 1st.

It’s wild to me that there are people who genuinely believe disability is easy to get on. As if anyone who dOeSn’T wAnt To WoRk can just walk into their local Medicaid office and get it immediately. There is no disability vending machine. That is not how this works. Every single person who applies is denied the first time. Guaranteed denial. On average it takes four years of applying, denials, and appeal processes to be awarded disability. It is a deeply dehumanizing process by design. You’re treated like a liar by those who are supposedly there to help in hopes that you’ll give up. Anyone who truly just doesn’t want to work will not deal with the copious amounts of bullshit and mistreatment that comes with applying for disability. If you do it without a lawyer you won’t make it past the first denial and you’ll be denied much sooner into the process. Even though the lawyer won’t really do anything besides show up to court.

If you manage to be awarded disability, you will live below the poverty line. If you have more than $2,000 in your bank account or in assets at any given time they will take your benefits. And trust me they will know. They will know because they watch your bank account. You cannot get married or you will lose disability. If by some miracle you find a job that will give you accommodations and are healthy enough to work part time they will cut your benefits. Being on disability is not ideal. It doesn’t guarantee some easy, affluent life like people seem to think. Nobody on disability wants to be on disability. It is the difference between life and death and nothing else.

Stop listening to fox news and sort out your ableism. It’s embarrassing.

I deeply apologize for crashing the economy in 2008 when I was TWELVE. I have lived below the poverty line my entire adult life. I’ve lived through a war, a plague, 9/11, and the find out stage of climate change. I turned 20 years old in 2016 and have only voted in two presidential elections because I am only 27 years old. But sure. It’s my fault😂. The boomers’ greed and their children’s apathy didn’t hand millennials this shit world. We haven’t been trying desperately to change things for the better for ourselves and gen z or anything. No, we’re the reason the world is shit😂.
