Today is four years to the day since I last played PLA.

Sometimes I get curious about going back to it, especially doing a playthrough of Shining Pearl right now, to see if I can recognize more areas in Hisui and how and if they line up with modern day Sinnoh (though so much did not).

But despite knowing Ingo went home, the game still leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth, not to mention I need no reminders of a fandom that was deeply ableist and a total disaster site that I and many others gave up on early on.

And as of right now, Akari's/Rei's (Dawn's/Lucas'?) fate is unknown, and it just felt a bit hopeless knowing the end of the game was obtaining Arceus and it asking you to "show [it] Hisui through [your] eyes"...when you already had to scour every inch of Hisui to even obtain it. Arceus was the last thing in the game other than rematches. What a slap in the face, to not be able to help Ingo at the end nor see the player character get to go home despite doing what Arceus asked, to be forced to help everyone in the region but those who needed and deserved it most?

Not booting it up tonight or anytime soon. But one day I will just so I can put Arceus as the only Pokemon in my party and use HOME to send all my Pokemon to other games, leaving Arceus alone in Hisui. And I hope to see Ingo and Emmet happy and themselves in a future game.

Hanging out in my room, cutting apart my Sailor Moon Q Posket boxes. I'm collecting very specifically the Princess forms, Eternal forms, and Sailor Cosmos since those didn't get any merch as they weren't seen in the 90s anime, and I love Sailor Moon now just as much as I did literally 20 years ago when merch was very hard to come by, and so this is very fulfilling and even healing in a way for me (for a few reasons). Several of my figurines were bought secondhand, so I don't have boxes for them. I don't really care about keeping them in the boxes or displaying them with the boxes, and I don't have the space to do that anyway, but I kept the boxes for the ones I bought new because I wanted to maybe make some art with the images on them. However, these boxes started to take up way too much space in my closet so I decided to recycle the protective cardboard inserts and flatten them, but even after that they were just too big and didn't lay flat. So now I'm cutting the extra flaps off that don't have any graphics on them and recycling those, and cutting all the panels apart so everything is flat and can be stored much more compact. The plan was to cut them apart anyway for some future art project(s) so there's no point in keeping them intact until then.

Listen, I'm excited for PLZA (I never played XY) and I'm excited to see what new things it will bring to the table both in terms of potentially new forms for Pokemon and new aspects of the game. But the breakneck speed at which people are posting about it is overwhelming to me. Besides all the other issues with contemporary fandom spaces from a social standpoint, part of the reason I don't engage is it's too much, too fast. I grew up long before bite-sized videos, I seek information rather than wait to be fed it, I don't consider working on art and posting it a week later "late" to a meme, I can wait weeks, months, or longer for an update on a fic I like, etc, etc. I don't need everything right here, right now, loud, fast, and in my face. I don't need notifications blowing up my phone, I don't need to be the first person to post about a detail I spotted, or a callback to an earlier game, I don't need to spend all my free time online, constantly engaging in a fandom space, etc.

I guess what I'm saying is I'm hopeful we'll get a good game seeing how the devs seem to have been given time to work on it vs being forced to crank out three titles (five games if you count the ones under the titles) in one year with each one having extreme detriments of some kind, but don't expect me to be on here constantly reblogging and posting about it.

A recipe for making oyakodon entirely within a rice cooker showed up in my recommended stuff at just the right time, so we're having that for dinner. I hope it's good!

Super important. Neurodivergent is not a shorthand term for autism and ADHD only. I really recommend courn's videos, they're so informative on topics relating to neurodivergency and disability.

I'm neurodivergent and don't like disclosing my information to strangers, however, whenever I mention I'm neurodivergent, people often automatically assume I'm using another word for autistic. I have some traits that overlap, as do a lot of neurodivergent people, but I'm not autistic. Because of the widespread assumption that everyone using the label is autistic, ADHD, or both, I sometimes wonder if I actually have a place in the community, but whenever I'm around neurotypicals, I'm acutely aware of the stark difference between how I experience life, and what is considered neurotypical.

God, one final insult from PLA.

If you've completed the Dex, you get a shiny Enamorous.

I completed the game, haven't touched it in nearly three years now because of what it led to, and I've largely forgotten the hideous hag.

I get that they tend to give out shiny Legendaries or Mythicals, or even starters, but...I don't know, even a shiny of one of the Hisuian forms would have been better than this old saggy bag of Valentines.

I was Mimikyu for Halloween!

Before we went to the parade, we went to look at Pokemon cards and on our way there my roommate complimented some people on their costumes, and one of them said "Wait" and handed us Trick Or Trade packs!

Most people at the parade thought I was Pikachu though, which for Mimikyu is good. A few people wearing Pokemon kigurumis asked for photos with me.

I wish they would make a Centiskorch scarf.

Not to be thinking about fall and winter when it's nearly the summer solstice, but I am thinking about Centiskorch lately. I just had more fun with Galar than I did anything that's come after.
