I fully intended to shade this, and maybe I will some other day, but at some point, y’gotta look at the clock and call it quits for the night
Feykro doesn’t dislike other dragons, per se, but she does much prefer the company of her plants. She also enjoys watching some of the critters who have made their homes in her garden, but if she feels like an animal is causing too much damage to her plants, she will feed it to her carnivorous plants without hesitation.
Some of Feykro’s larger carnivorous (and her non-carnivorous, yet oddly...very mobile) plants are used specifically to trap animals for her own meals. While most of the other residents of Godling Hollow rely on the Moondoll Coven’s gatherers to supply their food, Feykro’s diet consists almost entirely of things she has hunted, trapped, harvested, and foraged herself (or at least...with the help of her plants). Occasionally, she hunts with her friend Krasnovaar, the clan’s Plague representative.
First drawing for @seafaremarketplace‘s Dragon A Day art challenge! I’ll be posting the drawings individually on this blog and 3-5 drawings every few days on my art blog ( @inkadillo ). I’m going to use this as a chance to experiment with different brushes and techniques, and overall get to know CSP a little better
Iiz acts as a representative for the Ice Warden for the Moondoll Coven. While some of his fellow reps hold the belief that they are a physical embodiment of their deity, Iiz sees himself as more of a mortal, mundane creature with a very important job. He is kind and loyal, though it would be a stretch to call him “friendly,” as he is very selective with the company he keeps.
I feel like I’m starting to get the hang of this new brush (well...old, standard brush that I haven’t used until recently), and I’m very proud of this one!
Okaaz is one of the Godlings who believes himself to be a physical extension of his deity’s divine essence, and given his secretive nature and uncanny ability to predict future events...even the most skeptical dragons will concede that okay...maybe. For the most part, Okaaz does not display his emotions outwardly, which some have misinterpreted as apathy or disinterest. Those who know him best, however, have learned to pick up on the slight shifts in tone and expression, though even his mate is often left guessing about what is really on Okaaz’ mind.
Been thinking about Cherish and her girlfriends a lot since buying Kerosene, so here are all the girls together!
Little bit of lore on each one below the cut:
Cherish - Sweet, friendly, loves everyone and is loved by everyone in return. She’s not actually as positive and happy-go-lucky as she appears, but few dragons know her well enough to be aware of her less bubbly side. Her favorite thing to do is bake, and her primary love language is Distribution of Baked Goods
Felicity - Organized, meticulous, the type of dragon who would plan a surprise birthday party for herself. As Cherish’s childhood friend, Felicity has known her longer than the others, though Tabitha was the first to have a romantic relationship with her. Prior to either of them dating Cherish, Felicity and Tabitha didn’t get along. At all. However, they have since become close friends, and perhaps...something more...?
Tabitha - Generous, trusting, more than a little socially anxious. Tabitha is a witch who joined the Moondoll Coven and opened an apothecary. She and Cherish met when the latter brought her a tray of cookies to welcome her to the clan. The two hit it off right away. Cherish began spending more and more time in Tabitha’s shop, which gradually transitioned to spending more and more time with each other outside of the shop.
Kerosene - mysterious, unknowable, a woodland entity who...looks like a dragon, but...??? Cherish met Kerosene deep in the forest while looking for some rare berries to use in a recipe. Kerosene showed her where the berries were and helped harvest them. She was sad when Cherish said she had to leave, but brightened when the tundra promised to return. Cherish assumed her attraction to the creature was one-sided, until Kerosene presented her with one of the flowers growing in her hair -- which she explained is a token of courtship amongst her people.
It’s still April 3rd in my time zone for another 40 minutes so technicallyyyyy I’m on time with this one lol. I’ve finally decided on a way to format these posts I think, and I won’t be including the site images of the dragons anymore (tho their IDs will be at the bottom in case anyone wants to look at them/give them a like *wink wink*)
Of all the dragons who live in Godling Hollow, Ven is by far the friendliest and most outgoing. He is one of the few Godlings to regularly interact with the more “common” members of the Moondoll Coven, and perhaps the only one to befriend any of them. Ven regards his role as a mortal representative of the Windsinger as little more than a personality quirk or a fun piece of trivia about his life. He certainly doesn’t think of it as anything that elevates him above any other dragon.
Family portrait! Pest and Krasnovaar are now the proud mamas of baby Phlegmothy <3
He was supposed to have a fire primary, but you know what? Krasnovaar was supposed to have Plaguebringer colors, and the only dragons with those colors on the AH at the time were outside my price range, so her colors are a little off too. Like mother, like son.
Being Phlegmothy’s parent is a bit like being the owner of a mastiff: you always have to keep towels on you at all times to wipe up the slime.
Actual lore tidbits below the cut:
As I mentioned in a previous post, Phlegmothy has almost no wing tissue, so his moms made him a pair of cloth wings. They’re a bit thicker and heavier than typical wing membranes, so he can’t really fly in the classical sense. Instead, he has to take short, gliding leaps. On windy days he can go a bit farther though. Pest will often put him on her back and take him flying, which he absolutely loves.
Pest has tried to teach Phlegmothy scrimshaw carving, but so far it hasn’t held his attention. He’s much more interested in gnawing on bones than carving them, so Pest always sets some aside for him while she works on her projects.
Krasnovaar has had a little more luck with engaging their son in her hobby. Though she still does most of the heavy work, Phlegmothy often helps out in her carnivorous plant garden. He especially loves the giant Janustraps, but isn’t allowed to keep any of his own until he’s older. Krasnovaar and Pest did get him a sundew for this birthday though, and he has so far been keeping it alive and healthy.
Because he lives in Godling Hollow, which is separate from the rest of the Moondoll Coven, Phlegmothy doesn’t have many chances to socialize with dragons his own age. The adult dragons, for the most part, don’t mind if he hangs around with them (with some notable exceptions. Kun, for example, has forbidden the goopy mirror from getting within ten feet of her library), but he still wishes he had other hatchlings to play with.
[Note: If you have a permababy who is also part of a noble family or holds a significant religious role in your clan and you want to do hatchling penpal letters between them and Phlegmothy, hmu! Kind of an RP I guess? But just like...a really relaxed one bc idk how often I’d be able to respond]
Ooooooh another tough one! I went with a dragon (although...not actually a dragon) who basically just is their outfit: Fang (they/them). Fang is a servant of the Shadowbinder who raised Rezi, one of the clan’s co-founders. They parted ways with Rezi once she was old enough to go off on her own, but came to join the clan she started after they found a dragon whose body they could possess.
They now have enough magic to put out an illusion that looks like the dragon body they previously occupied, but any blessed with True Sight sees the above image instead
A tough choice, but I decided to go with Ruvaak (she/her).
Ruvaak takes great care of her outward appearance. She will not tolerate chipped claws or split ends, and even the “raggedness” of her clothes is a calculated fashion choice, rather than a sign of wear. She likes the finer things in life, and dislikes mess, but isn’t as easily grossed out as you might expect. As the clan’s apprentice mortician, she has a very strong stomach.
