Im writing chapter 2 of Moongal currently and--look me in the eyes here--

MAKE CHARTS OF WHAT YOUR CHARACTERS DO AND DO NOT DO TO REPRESENT THEIR EMOTIONS. not everyone will take deep breaths or ball their fists or pace or pull something apart or nervous sing or chew their nails etc.

Writing this made it waywaywaywaywaywaywayway easier to write both the characters you've met and the characters you havent.
