Power Metal With Female Leads
What follows is a short list of power metal bands with female leads. This is just what I know, though, so it’s not exactly gonna be comprehensive.
First off, Amaranthe. Personal favorite of mine when it comes to this list. This Swedish band actually has three different leads (Nils Molin, Henrik Englund, and Elize Ryd) but I’d argue that Elize is the one who makes the most impact in the band. Personal favorite song from them is actually from their third album, before Nils joined the band: Drop Dead Cynical.
Next is Ad Infinitum. What started as a solo project by lead singer Melissa Bonny turned into a full-fledged band and got picked up by Napalm Records. They’ve only got one album out so far but they’re working on another. Live Before You Die is my favorite song from them (though that’s the only one I really have experience listening to, admittedly). Have to say: I love Melissa’s singing voice.
Third is Moonlight Haze, an Italian band formed in 2018. I don’t exactly know a ton about this band outside of them existing but the song that brought me to them was ‘TIl The End. Like with Ad Infinitum, I’m very much a fan of the lead singer’s singing voice.
