@moonlightviigil asked: "Merry Christmas," Aphelios hummed, presenting Gwen with a small silver box with a teal bow. Inside, lay a white gold necklace with a pair of ornamental fabric shears. A precious moonstone inlay for the screw's head, and a band of sapphire around the pearlescent gem. "If you like, I can put it on for you?" he gently whispered, before he cleared his throat out of irritation.
If she's being perfectly honest- and she does try to be, especially with herself- Gwen hadn't been expecting anything. Or, at the very least, if anything was given, it would be something simple. Which, all things considered, this technically was. It was simply also... well. A rather expensive-looking bit of 'simple', she supposed.
"It's lovely," she says almost immediately upon seeing the charm, eyes lighting up. The expression brightens further when she recognizes the gems- moonstone is, if she recalls, Aphelios's own favorite, which is sweet. She supposes then, that the bright blue stones- sapphires, from the look of them- are meant to represent her?
It's an interesting tidbit to think about, even as she keeps her eyes on the pendant as she lifts it from the box.
Hearing him offer to put it on is almost as good a gift as the actual jewelry, though she frowns a little in concern at the coughing that immediately follows.
"Don't strain yourself," she murmurs, reaching out to slide her palm along the side of his throat gently. It won't help at all, but she does worry about him terribly. If something happened to make it worse, she'd be quite cross with herself for being the reason. "And if you don't mind, I'd like that very much," she adds, holding the necklace out until he takes it and then turning her back to him. Gathering her hair out of the way, she peers at him over the thick wave of one pigtail, and waits, expectantly, to feel the chain slide around her neck.
