Moonlit Oni: An RPG W.I.P
Sooooooooooooo........
Yeah I’m reviving the rpg that I found gathering dust in the depths of my laptop lmao. It’s... actually kind of special to me.
You see, while I won’t mention it by name out of respect for Shanna, this rpg is based on one that we all really loved at one point in time. It... honestly holds a lot of fond memories, despite the horrid circumstances that led us to drift from it on a larger scale. (Please do not ask her about this, it brings up bad memories).
But... nonetheless, I still find the game fun. It’s a wonderful story despite how heart wrenching it gets. So, as such, I want to recreate it with a fandom that won’t dredge up old, triggering memories. I want to remake it so that we can... all enjoy the story again, even if it’s with new characters and lore. I want us to be able to enjoy some nostalgia without having anyone becoming uncomfortable... or causing anyone else mental pain.
It’s far from finished. I barely got through the first chapter when I left it in the void. I’m redoing some of the sprites. Some of them I have to make from scratch. Not to mention that I have to draw the cutscenes anew. It’s something I’m going to work on at my own pace. Little bit here and there each day, no more than an hour or two as to not get burnt out like I did when I first started the game back in high school (yes, it’s been that long rip).
Once the game is finished, I’m going to find a way to scree record and upload a playthrough of it to my YouTube channel for all of you to see. As for @strawberry-metal, @kazekothestrange, and our friend Naomi, they will receive a personal download of the game so that they can enjoy it as well.
This... is something I’m hoping to put a lot of love into. It’s brought back the more positive memories from back then, at least for me. It’s something that I hope the girls all enjoy when it’s finished. <3
