Because of the wedding, the amount of hard missions increased and with that Eiji was obligated to be send in missions alone or with expert hunters. Yet he would always return as quickly possible to not let Emi be with another hunter - he could say that he was been quite a possessive about it.
So when he heard that she went in a mission with a hunter that Eiji knew that wasn’t expert neither very good he decided to just go after them. That is something he was glad, his instincts was far loud saying for him go and he was very glad in hear that.

Yet if she have a few more time it was possible for him go to Ai, he don’t wanna do anything against her will so that is why he didn’t forced anything, yet it was obvious to say that he would do anything to save her.
