NANOWRIMO 2019 WIP INTRO: MOONSELF

A surreal psychological thriller about an impulsive young woman and the world that should have stayed in her head. 

☽☾ The village of Gutt doesn’t exist. Filomena Corona lives on her own with a mindless job in a city she barely knows. Gutt is no more than a playground to live out her wildest fantasies. The statues that stand in the center of the village are her muse. Yet, the line between reality and fantasy blur when she finds the first of the six statue faces hung outside her apartment door.

So familiar that it’s alien to see so separate. There was no mirror, yet my own face stares at me with an expression of pure aggression I’ve only seen on coyotes with maws full of prey.

3: Does your WIP have a title? If so, explain its significance. If not, what are you calling it for now?

2 of my wips do! 

Blooming Ruins. I think the name is stuck at this point. This one is a bit clear to see as its about a Living Forest that’s consumed the ruins of an older world. There’s also some more spoiler reasons to it as well, But at it’s core, this story is about things blooming from unlikely places.

Moonself. It started as Project: Her. And the title is still subject to change. But moonself is a term i started using in real life to mean the parts of ourselves that come out when at our rawest.

NaNoWriMo update: Week 1

Project: Moonself Current word count:  5450

The start was rough! Made me realize just how bad my writing stamina was. But I kept getting what I could and am slowly picking up steam. I’m also getting a better feel for the characters and direction as well!
