The Conception of Linus || Urania & Apollo || Headcanon
It was bound to happen. The months he had spent with Urania had been amazing. While Apollo loved all of his Muses he had been particularly drawn to the intensity of Urania. The long nights they had spent together, her teaching him to appreciate the sunless sky, while he taught her more control of her prophetic and healing powers.
While it had been a mutual relationship of teaching and learning, over time their friendship grew into something more. It was on one of their late night astronomy excursions that they sat in the observatory he had created, in the tallest of the glass parapets of his palace. Urania had told him of an impending meteor shower, and as the night sky lit up with sparks of the falling stars Apollo's mind was alit with wonder. Like an excited child he grinned in awe, "It's beautiful Urania" He turned to her, watching the light of the dying stars reflect across her visage, and it was the first time that he really saw her. Leaning across he kissed her deeply and passionately.
The next morning as he harnessed the Griffin to his Chariot, she waved him off from his bedroom window. Day's turned to months, turned to years, they enjoyed each other's company, and intimacy. Learning more about each others crafts, and more about each other's bodies.
But all good things must come to an end. It was years later when she announced her pregnancy. She imagined a home and a life that included their child, while Apollo immediately started considering mortals to adopt the unborn creature.
Apollo was clearly not ready to be a father despite having fathered a plethora of children already. At Apollo's lack of paternal care Urania left, finally seeing the Sun God for what he was, a perpetual child. As she walked out the door he knew it was for the best, he had never had a father, what would he know of being one. He hoped in time she would come to understand that his plans were in the child's best interest.
