You know what some people say about children’s first birthday parties?
“Kid won’t even remember.” “It’s mostly for the parents.”
But this one is really for her. Because she’s loved by everyone around her and she deserves to be celebrated in every milestone of her life.
You’d asked Javadi to help you choose the decor for your backyard, since she was more tuned with the latest trends and you wanted something very special. You managed to keep it not too flashy, with pastel balloons, vibrant poppies and little pink bows here and there. You were mostly proud of the banner you got printed that said:
“One year of loving you.”
Jack had definitely stared at it too long from the kitchen when you set it up.
Hours later, your backyard was filled to the brim with all her extended family from the hospital. And you best believe little Poppy got spoiled spoiled.
The small box you set by the door for presents got filled so quickly that Jack had to start taking presents upstairs to make room for more as people kept coming.
Jack is also the one who holds her over the cake while you blow the candle for her. Everyone claps, there’s some whistles and a collective “Awww” when Jack plants the noisiest kiss on his daughter’s rosy cheek.
After that, he holds Poppy to his side so he can lean down and place a soft kiss on your lips. He mainly does it so that people look away and don’t notice his misty eyes. But the whole ordeal quickly turns into people chanting for him to give a speech–started by Mateo and encouraged by Shen. Jack refuses at first, of course, but after a glare encouraging look from you, he clears his throat and tightens his hold on Poppy, who’s already falling asleep on his shoulder.
“I didn’t know one little girl could make a house feel so different…but she did from the moment we brought her in. She changed every aspect of our lives for the better, and I can’t believe it’s been already a year of loving her,” he says with a weak chuckle, looking fondly at Poppy before turning to them. “I guess…I just want to say I’m very grateful to everyone here who helped us bring her home, keep her safe, and love her right.”
You can only smile, reaching out to hold his hand before you both break in front of everyone.
Godmother Dana and Godfather Robby aren’t doing much better, getting very emotional seeing what once was a fragile, abandoned little baby being surrounded by the most caring parents she could’ve ever asked for.
Everyone stays quiet for a little after that, before Trinity claims it’s enough of moping around and she offers herself to serve the cake.
Needless to say, baby’s first birthday is a success.

OH IM SO (NOT GENUINELY) MAD!!!!!!! i can never pick one specific color ugh. i’d say i love pastels the most usually!!! and specific colors im stuck between blue, pink, or purple! funny enough, the colors of the bisexual pride flag, but im homo as hell!!!!!! i’ve also come to love green a lot recently. yellow and orange too. but the top ties are the first three colors i gave u.
5. Last text message that made you smile?
firstly, any text from my boyfriend ( @bassist-bitch ) sends me over the moon. but, aside from the clear bias... i don’t wanna namedrop, but he’ll know who he is when he reads this.
two specific texts (technically discord ims, but they count, alright?) from this person. and im going to copy and paste these exact messages, unedited. idk if they’ll need tw/cw’s because of the obvious context, but keep in mind they’re serious and probably very emotionally heavy.
“Would,,,, staying alive for you be a good one (reason)????” and “Tbh you seem more like a better therapist for me than an actual professional one because you know how to actually calm me down and make me feel better....”
like that means so much to me bc i live to help the people i care for. those two messages are so, so huge to me. i will always hold those statements near and dear. they’re VERY IMPORTANT AND VALIDATING. and also i said something to this person for him to say “that is such a Connor Murphy thing of you to say” AND IM STILL SMUG ABOUT IT FIGHT ME

I think the first time Peter does this, it’s completely accidental. He was so caught up in the moment that he couldn’t control when his organic web glued one of your hands to the headboard. He was shocked and ashamed for a second, but you kept going instead of freaking out and suddenly something awakened in him.
Between him asking “This okay?” and cursing under his breath as he pinned you exactly where and HOW he wanted you with more and more webs, your body ended up completely at his mercy in a matter of seconds.
I’m going to say that after that very successful…session, Peter started researching more about it and got very excited to put into practice everything he learned <3

Hear me out: Johnny is an explorer. He loooves learning new things. Once he gets set on learning mermaid!you? Ughhh. Say no more.
He wants to know everything. How the tail works. How do you know his language. How he can make you laugh because you don’t understand his jokes. Why you sound so angelic when you sing that it makes him want to join you in the water and never come out.
He notices you don’t get too close to him when he’s flamed on. Maybe the extreme heat makes the scales feel weird and now Johnny Storm has to learn how to turn part of himself off just so he can see you from up close.
He wants to know what happened to the other mermaids, and wonders if you feel lonely. Johnny starts disappearing from the tower to “patrol” when he’s actually looking for other interesting human things to bring you. GOLDEN RETRIEVER ENERGY.
You want to know everything about him too. He’s a little weird, but his smile is very kind. The concept of him being caught in a cosmic storm in space is absolutely mind blowing. He explains it as many times as you ask him to. You see the stars from the sea but he’s been next to them and that’s fascinating.
You show him your collection of human things you’ve gathered (F4 merch included) and ask if every human has toys made out of them. He has to explain what his family does for a living. What he does. In your eyes, he’s the absolute opposite of what you’ve always been told vile humans were.
He even teaches you about another wild concept: sunscreen. That’s what gets a tiny laugh out of you. “But the sun can’t hurt you, Johnny of the Storm. You’re made of starlight.”
That one keeps him up that night. You’re adorable. He’s just a man.
Sigh. He’s in deep trouble.
(His family is done with him falling for non conventional creatures, but can you really blame him?)
