Lily and James stand in the lobby of the restaurant. Lily brushes imaginary wrinkles from her dress nervously, as she keeps looking towards the door to see when Vernon and Petunia will enter.
Lily looks away distractedly and then down at her dress. As she goes to brush the imaginary wrinkles away again, but James catches her hands...
Lily spots her sister, accompanied by a large heavyset man, walking through the door. Her stomach tenses, but she smiles at the thought of seeing her Tuney again...
Surprisingly Petunia greets her cordially and returns her kiss on the cheek, though she’s the first to pull away.
James flashes his winning Marauderish smile that does little to win Petunia over.
The familiar name takes Petunia by surprise. No. It can’t be...
Petunia catches herself before she can finish her sentence and gives Potter a cordial greeting.
The large walrus-like man next to Petunia clears his throat, signaling his impatient desire to be introduced.
Lily generously extends her hand towards Vernon, eager to get on good terms with her sister’s fiancee.
Vernon looks at Petunia uneasily, as if Lily will infect him with something but after a reassuring glance from Petunia, he shakes her hand, almost painfully, as Lily quietly winces.
Vernon pulls away rather quickly as if he’s touched something dirty. When Lily pulls away she introduces her own partner. James and Vernon reach to shake hands with one another, and Vernon nearly crushes his hand.
The venomous insinuation is there, and as James is about to retort, the waitress enters...

Hello! So, here’s the deal: Quinn (@moony-luna) is on a hiatus right now and it’s making me sad. I miss her content and just generally lovely and bubbly self so much! So I’ve decided I want to secretly organize a little Quinn lovefest for her to return to. Surprise her with all the kindness! All that good stuff! If you’re willing, maybe say some nice things about her? If you aren’t, no worries!
Okay so this has been in my inbox for quite some time now, cause I have not known how to put my love for Quinn into words. But today is her birthday, so here we go.
One day, she messaged me, giving me compliments and saying that we should be friends. And so we became friends. Wow I just realized that making friends in this community is kind of like making friends in daycare. Anyway, that’s beside the point. I am so very glad that Quinn did message me that day, cause my life is so much better for having her in it.
She is just such a silly person, and it ALWAYS brings a smile to my face. Like how she once compared sweden and america by saying that sweden was “the cake of countries” and “classy theme park country”, while the us is “the gas station bearclaw” and “a county fair but the butter sculpture is on fire and the ferris wheel is rolling away”. And once on a hangout, she was laying on the floor, and just randomly grabbing clothing hangers and cuddling them? It was very silly and a very good time, and I love her for it.
Quinn is also such a considerate and caring person. She always wants the best for you, and even if you don’t ask for it, she’ll give you her support and love and advice, and it’s so so lovely. She is a master of spreading positivity, even if she is not feeling her best. I just admire that quality in her so much, cause I feel like it’s kind of rare. She is just an incredible human being, and I love her for it.

Oh lord, I’m usually really bad at gushing over people but if there is one person I can do it for, it’s @moony-luna . Quinn is the first person (and Q) I ever asked to collaborate with. I remember that I didn’t feel anxious at all before messaging her, she seemed to be such a sweet person, it was impossible for me to feel bad in any way. But not only did she seem to be a really sweet person, she was! When I first started out I was so intimidated by everyone (and I still am by majority of the community) BUT QUINN! I’ve never once felt intimidated by her, any questions I had, anything I needed help with, she was always so helpful and understanding. I could send her the most random question and she would just answer. And oh god, do I miss seeing her and her lovely self on my dash!! I love her so so much!!
Nevertheless, I hope she is doing great! Everyone needs a break from time to time and although I can’t wait for her to come back, so we can scream at each other about stranger things and marvel, I hope she takes all the time she needs.

Vernon, Petunia, James, and Lily take their seats. The couples sit by their partners and across from the other. Lily is the first to begin the conversation-
James is obviously caught off guard
Lily kicks him underneath the table, and James grunts.
No mentioning magic…
Lily sees the rising tension and is about to say something when the waiter comes by to take their drink orders. It diffuses it for a moment…
As everyone puts in their orders, the tension diffuses. Lily inwardly sighs with relief and is thankful for the frivolous distraction. As the waitress leaves, Lily is finally able to redirect the conversation to something less tense.
Petunia looks excited to get to talk about herself and Vernon,
Lily looks expectant, waiting for her to say more when she realizes that’s the end of the story.
She’d hate to ruin Tuney’s excitement, so instead puts on an exciting facade.
James is about to open his mouth when they are saved again by the waitress’ interception and receive their drinks.
Vernon looks around in a panic to make sure no one’s heard the talk of all things magical and odd.
James stiffens but puts on a calm facade. He begins to explain about Gringotts, though he can’t help but linger on words that have to do with magic.
Lily looked incredulously at Petunia who actually looked proud of Vernon. As if he were the innocent one who had not one fault. Having enough, Lily returned her accusatory tone;
Lily: Are you kidding? Your fiancee came in-
Vernon leads the way and storms out, with their fellow guests looking mildly annoyed and concerned with the interruption.
Lily hurries to catch up with Petunia, reaching out for her
The words are like a knife into Lily’s heart. The air escapes from her lungs and she stands speechless.
Satisfied at her sister’s reaction, Petunia smiles smugly.
Petunia follows Vernon with the same angry energy out of the restaurant. James has taken care of the check and follows Lily outside who is now in tears.
