Ex Post Facto at MOP Projects

Ex Post Facto, The Paper Mill Director group show just wrapped up at MOP Projects ARI. While I was away for the opening, I really enjoyed visiting on Sunday to see the show. It was an important show for us Directors, and marked the culmination of over 2 years of work with The Paper Mill. It was great to be exhibiting at the same time as the talented Justin Balmain too, who has shown at The Paper Mill and has been a great supporter and friend.

The Paper Mill Directors Aaron Anderson, Kate Campbell, Anne-Louise Dadak, Christopher Hodge, Siân McIntyre, Stephanie Peters and Laura Pike will be presenting seven works for Ex Post Facto (meaning 'after the fact').

This exhibition comes quite literally 'after the fact' -  exactly 4 months after The Paper Mill's final exhibition. Ex Post Facto draws on the seven Paper Mill Director's shared experience of running an Artist Run Space - the constant stream of little endings and beginnings that occurred both during the lifespan of The Paper Mill and after the closing of the space. The Paper Mill has been repainted for the last time. While the space remains blank, the white walls of MOP Projects will be host to Ex Post Facto. The exhibition is a reflection upon the respective readings of 'after the fact' by seven artists from varied creative backgrounds.

Land and monument, physical space, memory, landscape, control, loss of control, flux and precarious balance are all touched upon in this diverse exhibition.
