Mor put ShelterBox in a box for Cornwall Design Season
Children explore the ShelterBox shipping container in Truro Park & Ride
Falmouth-based design agency Mor have created a space that explores the story of ShelterBox as part of Cornwall Design Season.
The space, a shipping container in Truro Park and Ride, is one of 15 containers placed at special locations across the county throughout the spring.
The Cornwall Design Season brief went out to creative designers across Cornwall asking them to come up with an inventive way of celebrating Cornish Design success stories, such as ShelterBox.
ShelterBox was nominated as a success story by Chris Hines MBE, co-founder of Surfer's Against Sewage and CEO of A Grain of Sand.
‘ShelterBox typifies the spirit of the Cornish people,’ said Chris. ‘The all-hands-on-deck approach rings true in a county where weather and storms have torn apart families and villages over the years.
‘ShelterBox is funded entirely by public donations and this gives you a sense of the epic fundraising and inherent goodwill that exists in Cornwall. It makes us proud to live here.’
Michael Hawes at Mor said: 'We were delighted to be able to tell the story of ShelterBox as part of the design season. We hope that the ShelterBox space will attract attention and raise awareness of the great work that ShelterBox does providing a helping hand to families who’ve lost everything in a disaster.’
The ShelterBox and MOR container is open from 26 March until 25 April.
