Help me help everyone
I have an issue and I have an idea. The issue is that large companies are buying out America (as you know) and suffocating individually owned businesses. The idea is to create a website (and eventually an app as well) that lets users easily search for individually owned businesses around them to buy whatever they need.
Believe it or not, this doesn't already exist! The problem is that it should, and together we can make it happen.
What I need from you, Tumblr community, is some help researching! I want to make this website for the continental United States (it will eventually expand, I'm sorry to Alaska, Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, and other nations) but it is very hard for me as one student based in Maryland to FIND all of these shops! So, what I'm asking for is Regional Representatives using the following region map (again, only including what is continental):
What you will be doing is searching for individually owned businesses (of any variety) in your region and making a list that you will keep (and keep updating) and keep me posted on.
Our people and our businesses need this. Help me raise awareness and ease of conscious purchasing.
