gothhabiba has gone 'kink-critical', jsyk. which kinda proves my point that I've been screaming for years: overly angry people will easily sink into genuine trash opinions and extremism.
That... does not surprise me.

“John and Mary get divorced, but it doesn't really go the way divorces are supposed to go. In fact, nothing happens the way it's supposed to happen, but it still works out.“
@moranion says “This story was born sometime last fall, when I got angry about the general assumption that Mary either had to die or be a villain in order for John and Sherlock to get together, either in fic or in the show. So I set out to prove that I could do it better.”
Damn did they ever.
This fic proves hands-down that sympathetic Mary in an unabashedly Johnlock fic CAN BE DONE, PEOPLE.
OMG ALL THE FLUFF. ALL THE FLUFF IS IN THIS FIC. And Johnlock for days.
Sherlock adores Mary. ABSOLUTELY ADORES HER. John loves her too. And Mary steps aside because of the love she sees between Sherlock and John (that’s how the fic starts so that’s not a spoiler.) This follows the canon of S3 - Mary shooting Sherlock, Magnussen, Sherlock’s suicide mission - this fic doesn’t shy away from any of that yet turns it all into the biggest love letter to all three of them.
Mycroft’s speech is particular perfection.
Thanks to the Anon who sent a rec for this fic to my inbox - it was definitely a treat to read, and a perfect addition to the Femfirmative Recs.
Ladies Present: Mary is a main character; Molly, in one scene; Surprise Mystery Guest
Characterization: Mary is a generous, loving, snarky, wicked ex-assassin - just like in the show, with faults and strengths. Molly’s pretty superficially sketched but she’s positive as well.
Participation: The narrative hinges on Mary’s actions and interactions, so she figures very predominantly in the story (she’s either involved in much of the action or being discussed.) Molly’s presence is very small in one scene (one mention of Mollstrade) but is friends with Sherlock and Mary particularly. And then the Surprise Mystery Guest gives the ending a romantic twist.

Fuck Descartes why do some of his arguments have to be like. Good. and some of them are dumb as shit. Can’t stan or hate him without looking like a twat either way
I know right? On the one hand: genius, seminal thinker, etc. etc. On the other hand: HOW ABOUT I NAIL YOU TO A WALL YOU SICK FUCK

otoh Sherlock fandom went off the deep end looking for gay subtextual clues in set design and decoration and while the set team confirmed that those things were placed there deliberately, they were just having fun on their own with the script and weren't instructed to do it by the writers. So, try not taking it as a secret wink-wink from Jeremy Slater himself if/until he actually confirms it.
I mean, I was in the spn fandom for years, so I’m def no stranger to picking apart set design looking for subtext while realizing there is oftentimes a disconnect between those responsible for said set design and the actual writers. I’m personally not too concerned with word of god confirmation tho, because subtext is just FUN, regardless of the intent behind it. :P

I'd also like to add that some of us have been told so often "you're weird!" in a demeaning way, we've built up our entire image on embracing the being weird part. That would also be the reason why I roll my eyes when people insist I use "diverse" instead of "different".
this is why some of us use queer

This. Antis yelling that writers get off on writing teenagers fucking seem to not understand how writing even works. We will write about things that happened to us (and are either fond memories or trauma), and stuff that we wished would happen but never did. Having sex in your teens is definitely one of those things. And even if you do get off on it, it means "i remember how great it was to fuck when i was a teenager", not "ooh i want to fuck a teenager RIGHT NOW".
“Antis yelling that writers get off on writing teenagers fucking seem to not understand how writing even works.”
This.
YES you're watching The Exorcist :D I'm so happy that the Hannibal fandom is getting on board with this show, the fandom is tiny rn and we need great people in it.
There seem to be more and more of us getting on board with this show every day now. Slowly but surely my dash is turning into a collective of fannibals discovering this exciting and beautiful new show and falling in love... and I feel like @granpappy-winchester is responsible for most of this. xD
And I hope lots more fannibals decide to join us!!! The renewal situation is still up in the air and I read last night that the writers have a 7 season arc planned out and it would be a travesty for them to not get to tell their story. We all know how devastating it can be to lose a beloved show before its time because of poor ratings...

This is bullshit. In the interview, Jeremy Slater said that they won’t know for sure until April at the earliest.
YES GOOD
