Radiation is terrifyingly strange! It's done all manner of untold destruction to Boston as he knew it, and to the people that used to live there, thanks in no small part to Vault-Tec. But he's met plenty of ghouls ( and one supermutant ) thus far that have survived the effects, thriving afterwards. Who knew one of the possible side-effects was turning into a squid-thing? Seemed right out of a fantasy novel ( or maybe an issue of The Unstoppables ). Dogmeat didn't seem placated at all, and barked madly Frye, who didn't seem much like a threat to Nate. "Hey, hey, chill!"
Nate got between Frye and Dogmeat, stepping back to force Dogmeat a few paces. Dogmeat sat and growled obediently, ears flat and snout forwards. It's never been much of a problem, Dogmeat's protectiveness, but Nate just wished there was a bit of an off-switch for that. Perhaps it was the setting that put him off. And it wasn't like Frye was emitting any radiation, if Nate's pip-boy was to be trusted; while it has been eerily silent for a while now, Nate didn't want to jump to any conclusions. Perhaps it was the distance from the Glowing Sea that made it so silent.
"I'm sorry for him, we've just never encountered anybody that's like..." Looks like you sounded a bit rude, so he let it hang in the air. "Can I make it up to you? I haven't got any caps on me, but I could probably help you out with something if you needed. Like, uh, clearing out some raiders for you?"
