Last week I was able to tag along to a Mordencage demo hosted by Christina Z. Anderson. Mordencage is a printing process that was invented in the 1960's by French Photographer Jean-Pierre Sudre. The remarkable imagery that this process produces has failed to gain excitement on the American side of the Atlantic. I find it incredible how the destructive element of this process is what creates the unique beauty of the final product. I have had to ability to dabble in this process in the past and am continuously blown away by what it produces. I cannot begin to express how good it feels to be playing with chemicals again!

For me there is nothing better than getting into the darkroom, mixing up a fresh batch of destructive chemicals, and using my hands to make an image that forces people to stop and ask, "how did they do that?"
