Would love to explore it in a thread where Mandy/Blazer first recieves her powers and learns the hard way that restraint is key.
Her amulet/the powers doesn't quite 'grasp' how fragile humans are. The powers attuned themselves to protect it's 'host' ie Blazer, to the point of dulling sensation because it needs HER to survive, others though? They are fair game.
Mandy on the other hand has some medical training as an EMT, so while not nurse or doctor levels of knowledge, she's seen and helped treat/stabilize people in gnarly, grotesque and near fatal states.
So to have her...say punch a guy and see the impact it makes after the fact would horrify her, because part of her would know
1: How much that hurts
2: how much it'd cost to treat/ how long it'd take for a full recovery
3: Potentially fatal such an injury would be
As such she pulls her punches A LOT against 'normal' people
Super powered individual she has to gauge and watch them for a bit
Supernatural entities/individuals, kauji, etc, tends to go right for the energy blast, whereas she reserves that gold glow firepower as the absolute last resort in the instances mentioned above.
Would sooner swoop in, grab and detain or remove from the situation over actively harming someone.
Mercy has caused her harm in the past, but never seems to learn since her body can 'take it' while the amulet is on.
@thesweetestsupervillains are already cooking something in terms of how that mentality is gonna bite Mandy in the ass because she's so used to enduring/taking hits and it not bothering her...as a human, depowered she's got to learn it's not like that anymore. Her instinct to run to danger is going to fuck her up before any villain actively out to get her will.
are all red carpets this quiet?
Just a little au thingy I was thinking about where dad Egbert is different in a way that he ignores John and is really caught up with work all the time and they used to be close but after mom Egbert passed away he shut himself away and put his mind strictly on work John doesn't mind it too much he understands but he just wishes he had his old dad back or wants his dad to at least talk to him
