Nico had such a hard time opening up and demonstrating love to Will it stressed him out. With his internalized homophobia and the 1930s discrimination of gay people, just grabbing hands must have been a huge step for Nico. Simple pet names and compliments don’t come easily to him, at first he’s scared to say anything, then it’s difficult to express himself through words because he has never loved anyone like this and no one has loved him back like this.

I bet that’s why Nico and Will hadn’t even kissed until Jason’s death. Because Nico couldn’t do it.

Not because he didn’t want to. His brain just wouldn’t allow it.

But Will took it with such care, patience and love. He didn’t mind waiting for Nico to be ready, to let himself enjoy it.

He waited until Nico was comfortable enough to make a move. Yes, he might’ve kissed him in the heat of the moment, but he had taken his time to do it and only did it to show support, comfort, care, SOLACE.

And he apologized for his erratic move, but Nico let him do it again because of said patience.

I hate when people depict them (BOTH of them) as masters of flirting. They’re teenagers, around 15 years old, both get flustered by a simple cheek kiss in public or get embarrassed by a little compliment. They’re both cringey dorks.

I do think Will has some prior experience, Apollo kids probably have too many crushes and he might’ve had a partner before. But he was still 14 before meeting Nico, one relationship doesn’t make him a master (and Nico hasn’t been in a relationship, dude has no idea what he’s doing).

Deltarune Weird Route Spoilers

Spoilers ahead for the Deltarune Chapter 5 Weird Route!

The start of the Chapter 5 weird route really gave me the same vibe as the no mercy route in undertale, where it is like the game is punishing you for your decisions.

In undertale, this is making the game a slog and removing the puzzles and fun dialogue.

In deltarune, this was manifested through Kris fighting against you to leave the bed, then moving purposefully slow, and then refusing to describe anything, to the point where Susie is needed to gain any info from interaction.

Love the idea that Agatha is the one sat tippy tapping on a keyboard adding shit to her legend online.

She probably archives a bunch of stuff she has done just so she can revisit it and cackle.

Plus, it gives her control over how people will perceive her. If she controls the narrative, she controls the battlefield.

It can't hurt that it also removes any weaknesses to be exploited.

What a diabolical jerk.

PS that manga panel? Take a look at how Araki chooses to stage that. Giorno is placed at top of panel, and Bruno is LOOKING UP at him. This is subtle but important. I'm really wanting to go and collect all of the panels where they do The Thing and then examine them more closely to see if this is a consistent thing or not.

When they are first introduced, pay attention to when Giorno and Bruno are put on even levels (eye level, like the licking) or when Araki chooses to place one of them higher than the other. The shots where Bruno is looming over Giorno in the cable car are deliberately angled to enhance the sense of menace Bruno is attempting to project, making him dominant at that point. But then he bails out, they go back to a 'level' ground when he comes back at the window, and this represents a small and subtle shift in their situation right then and there. They are now EQUAL COMBATANTS on an EQUAL FIELD.

But this is why I don't put ANY WEIGHT WHATSOEVER into any 'age gap' or 'power differential' arguments; BRUNO HAS ALMOST ALWAYS DEFERRED TO GIORNO, in the text. And again, relationships are not as simple or as linear as people often want them to be. In this case, Bruno has 'the power' but Giorno has 'the drive', and Bruno wants what Giorno's got. So Bruno is subservient to Giorno, even though Giorno is 'technically' not the superior.

I could also go on to add that David Pro at least seems to ship it, there's an AWFUL LOT of commercial-aimed art that portrays Bruno and Giorno together, which to me adds more weight to the 'co-protagonist' concept. Now MAYBE it's that they are the most popular characters and that's why they get paired, but ask yourself how many times you see, say, Bruno and Abbacchio get drawn together in commercial arts. Or, for that matter, even Mista and Giorno, which would be logical...

I'm really hoping that we get future projects with Echo in because I'm not totally happy with this being the end of his story. Wrecker, Crosshair and Hunter living a relatively chill life to old age feels like enough of an ending, even if we don't see the true end point of their story.

But Echo going back to the Rebellion doesn't feel like a conclusion. He's done that multiple times since S2 so it doesn't feel like an end. And without a mention in the epilogue it feels like his story has just been left ongoing. I really hope they go back to him at some point
