“Lore is one of the most terrifying people I have encountered. For someone to be able to see a group of people that need help and exploit them, and hurt them, is one of the most horrifying things I can think of. He’s like the proverbial wolf in sheep’s clothing. 

“The idea he can turn so quickly on someone he claims to have loved is equally terrifying. I don’t trust him. I regret trusting him in the first place.

1) Hugh realized that, in a way, he is who he is in part because of Lore and it drives Hugh up a wall. 2) As much as Hugh dislikes Lore and even fears him, Hugh still respects Lore as a person- the idea of someone not viewing a synthetic person as a person hits home.

That Lore has seen Hugh at his most desperate. The idea that Lore saw him be so vulnerable and in need of rescuing embarrasses the heck out of Hugh. And makes him feel sick. He wishes he’d been braver.

Plot Line - Cheryl/Lore

Cheryl was relieved to finally stumble upon a building after what seemed like hours wandering through the forest.  She wasn’t sure where the portal behind her house had taken her this time, only that it was unfamiliar to her.  Thank goodness she’d finally found this small cabin, which seemed to have lights on inside.

She tapped nervously at the door.  Once, then twice.  Then, desperate, she turned the knob and, finding it unlocked, stepped inside.
