A Surreptitious Liaison:// Aja&Morando
The world is bathed in the neon blue of partially fabricated buildings as the sky above reaches peak blackness, the three moons of Iulara hidden from the ground by a thick layer of clouds. The air is cool and the streets are sparsely occupied, time wearing late here on the ground. All in all it is an unassuming night, especially considering how one day it will be considered a pivotal moment in Akiridion’s history.
Morando brings as little attention to himself as he can with his great stature and imposing frame, slipping through the front doors of a rather shabby looking building. He is unimpressed by the general disrepair on the various outposts owned by the Tarrons, but if the state of it wasn't enough to indicate that Fialkov and Corana don't pay any attention to them, the fact that he has been able to prowl it without anyone batting an eye is sufficient. He gives the clerk a few crestons for a room, and a few more to keep their mouth shut, and then makes his way down the poorly fabricated hallway.
The door to the room is rather primitive, as he has to hold an actual key to the door to make it slide open, but slide open it does, and he steps into the room. The ceiling is too short for a Taylon of his stature, and the edges of his crest threaten to brush up against the buzzing metal if he moves his head in the wrong way. He knows his guest will surely tease him should she notice, and so he moves to sit at the bench across from the door. It is a plain thing, but it will do.
Nearly a horvath passes in complete silence, the disgraced general waiting ever so patiently. He is always calm, patient -- it is a skill that has aided him well in his career, and it will not fail him now. Nevertheless, he finds his patience ebbing -- but as it does, he hears footfalls against the floor outside, and feels her presence through the wall. It sends a shudder through his core, and he grins. He presses the button on the key and the door slides open, revealing to him the frame of Aja Tarron, princess of Akiridion.
“Come in,” he rumbles. “I was beginning to think that you wouldn’t show. I see that I didn’t scare you off.”
