Beautiful addition to the lore.
morelstar flirting like "i could rename you -face if you want"
That is a hell of a pull and I'm here for it.
i still cackle at the potential thought Morelstar couldnt get over Whitekit getting into rotting food and went, thou shall be Whitemaggot bc you are a little garbage worm
It can't be much worse of a reason than half the names in canon have!
Blueface, deputy: Please let someone other than Cootpath mentor Morelstar: No. We're giving Titbelly's entire litter to them next
I appreciate the return of Morelstar.
Please give Morelstar a cameo in a tale or through StarClan nonsense
Honestly, Morelstar's a great communal joke to build upon. I doubt I could do anything funnier with him than what people come up with.
So with his humorous antics, would Morelstar have been Morelbelly when he was a Warrior? And with his antics, I’d imagine the leader he had was as much as a jokester or just genuinely didn’t have any good options other than him.
Also! With the names anons have made so far we have: Morelstar, Blueface, Cootpath, Titbelly and Whitemaggot and with two color prefixes and two animal prefixes we could potentially narrow the Clan to maybe WindClan? Since they tend to have color and animal prefixes preferences. Which tbf we only have five names, but if we all just go “Sure, WindClan” kind of makes Morelstar even more amusing since their typical humor is so dry.
Personally, I'm going to let Morelstar be vague in my head. It makes for a broader range of potential jokes. I like to imagine that no one can get a fixed story pinned down on him, and since he doesn't appear to be around in StarClan, all we have are rumors and snippets of memories from ancient souls.
tell us more about morelstar?
Oh, what is there to say, really? Sort of nice, sort of not, average as we all are, liked to experience new things. Rather unremarkable fellow. His claim to fame is naming someone -maggot, and no one knows what the hell that's supposed to signify.
It is curious that no one can find him, of course. Maybe there's some pale ghost walking the world, or maybe something destroyed his soul. He didn't get to wander a whole lot when he was alive, you know. He was made leader rather young, and that took up all his time.
Maybe Morelstar just didn’t like Whitemaggot.
On a more serious note- Since forgotten prefixes are usually forgotten for a notable reason, such as being just a tad too mean, or the skill is no longer necessary, it could mean multiple things perhaps. Might be a long ask, sorry in advance!
On the one really mean end it could mean that this cat is perhaps filthy. Since that’s where maggots are commonly found disgusting places. So Whitemaggot could’ve potentially neglected her own well-being, her fur matted similarly to Murkpelt. Possibly carrying an odor that had anyone not used to it recoiling. This could even go mental perhaps, neglecting her own happiness. Or it could go even meaner since maggots are disgusting little creatures, maybe -maggot was given to a cat that was unattractive by the Clan’s standards. But that would be too mean, ouchies.
On skill the only thing I could think of was handling the dead. I remember in the old redux each Clan had a different way of handling the dead, though I can’t exactly remember who handled it, perhaps -maggot could’ve hinted at that. They knew the proper way to handle the deceased, knew what flowers to place on them if in RiverClan, where to put them, and what prayer (?) to say to help guide the spirit to StarClan. It isn’t exactly a skill, well not one enough to earn a suffix for, but that could be why it was eventually forgotten.
Well, you put way more thought into it than most suspect Morelstar did. I can't say much on the theories, except that hopefully it's not the messy fur one.
