Good morning, sunshine! ☀️This painting is a little bit different from my usual (current) style. For one, I don’t usually paint with black, or at least not pure black like this. I also don’t tend to use graphic elements such as stripes… But here’s the story, in case you missed it (in my last post): this painting used to look different. I painted it in 2012, and then it spent some time in a vacation rental unit where it became scuffed and scratched over the years. I just brought it back into my studio with the intention of simply touching up the scratched spots, and ended up having my way with it… I added much more than the necessary “repair“! I painted the white stripes on top of the black background, and added a few more dabs of colour in the center. It used to be called “Talk a Lot“. I think I will call it “Talk a Lot More“ now, because I added more to it. I love the graphic nature of the b&w stripes… so fun! She’ll be in my THROUGH TIME series shortly (link in bio).
