I've just returned home after a 616km round trip from Sydney to Mudgee and back. The Morgan served as an honorary motor bike with six mates on their Triumphs, Ducati and Hondas. From Sydney to Lithgow was highway driving and a bit dull, but from there to lunch in Rylstone and then in to Mudgee the roads were mostly clear of traffic with flowing bends and beautiful scenery. Some stretches were as bumpy as they were twisty so whether on one of the bikes or in the Mog, we enjoyed the concentration and the sensation of the open road. The evening in Mudgee with the fellas was a lot of fun, spent mainly in the Mudgee Brewery with good food and beer. It's a lovely town and an ideal distance for a weekend road trip. The return trip saw us roar back to Lithgow then take the fantastic Bells line of road with a detour into Mt Wilson. Lunch past Bilpin at Pie in the Sky then down the mountain to the north west of Sydney and back to the reality of heavy traffic. All in all it was a terrific getaway and the Mog run well, if a bit rich. Some tinkering to come...
