Monster Breakdown: Ni͞gh͝tma͘r̨e h͝o͞mew͏o̢r͡k͞ of DOOM͝
Chimera: Originates in Lycia, which is a part of Asia Minor. It is the offspring of Typhon and Echidna. It is normally shown as female and has parts of a lion, a serpent, and a goat. Many times it is shown as a lion with a goat's head sprouting from it's back and a tail that ends in a snake head. It breathes fire, so it can be hard to deal with. Historically, Chimeras have been defeated by attacking them from above so that they cannot scorch you with their fire breath.
Chupacabra: Appears to have originated in Puerto Rico. The general agreement is that the Chupacabra has gray-green scales or leathery skin with spikes running down its back. It has been said to be about four feet tall and on two legs, but instead of walking it normally hops as if it were a kangaroo. The Chupacabra has been seen jumping distances of about twenty feet. Since not much is truly known about the Chupacabra, it is hard to say what its specific strengths or weaknesses are. From the reported attacks, it appears to have sharp teeth and claws to match the spikes.
Cerberus: Originated in Greece. A three-headed dog that guards the gate to the Underworld. It is also the offspring of Typhon and Echidna. It is said to only hunger for live meat, so it allows the souls to pass into the Underworld, but not to leave. It has a height advantage and can fight like three monsters in one due to multiple heads. Heracles once overpowered the beast with his bare hands, but most of us don't have that strength. One way to fight the beast might be to run under it and attack it's belly.
Centaur: Originated in Greece. Centaurs have the body of a horse and the torso of a human. Centaurs have a reputation as either being hotheaded warriors or very intelligent creatures. One of the most famous Centaurs is Chiron, a Centaur that taught many Greek heroes. They have a height advantage over humans and could easily trample someone, but they also have a horse's body and a horse's weaknesses. If you injure one of their legs, you can disable them.
Basilisk: The Basilisk originates in Cyrenaica, a coastal region in the east of Libya. Nobody knows what the Basilisk looks like. Some say that it looks like a rooster with the tail of a scorpion, but others say that the Basilisk is a snake-like serpent king. We might never truly know what the Basilisk looks like because it can cause death with a single glance. It has been killed by using a mirror to force it to look at itself.
