Aiden Markram scored 152 as SA were 6/313 at stumps on day 1 of the 4th Test (Faf 0). Morne’s son Arias took part in the anthem ceremony in Morne’s last Test.
SA has won the first Test v India by 77 runs on the fourth day after the third day was washed out. SA made only 130 in the 2nd innings but chasing 208 India were bowled out for 135. Vernon Philander was Man of the Match with 6/42 in the second innings. The next Test starts Saturday at Centurion.
“This is as good as it gets in Test cricket,” Proteas captain Faf du Plessis said. “The crowd was incredible and we felt their support. It was amazing being on the field. This was one of my favourite Test matches.”
"There was this flow the whole time: India's on top then South Africa's on top, then they are taking the game to us and we are taking it back to them. Just as an advert for Test cricket, that's as good as it gets. There was no boring Test cricket, it was a lot of action. And that's why we absolutely loved this Test match. And even if we had lost this game, we would have been very disappointed but would have said the way this game was played was remarkable." (Faf via ESPN)

South Africa lead by 205 going into the 3rd day of the 2nd Test at Trent Bridge.
Turning a team's mood, mindset and match-day performances around can take months but Faf du Plessis was able to achieve that with his South African side in less than a week. Since returning to the squad following the birth of his first child, du Plessis has challenged, chastised and commiserated with his men following their Lord's defeat. And he has also inspired for them to fight a little harder just by doing that himself.
"It's quite easy for everyone to say how good Faf is," Chris Morris said. "It's just his character. He lives for playing for the Proteas and is what a Protea should be. He lives for the team and he leads by example. He puts his body on the line and he doesn't mind batting for three days to save a Test. When a guy leads from the front, a lot of guys will follow."
