Okay so I’ve started watching this show on the history channel lately, it’s called forged in fire. Great show, and every episode the blacksmiths have to forge a different historic blade. Well this episode focussed on the Moro Kris blade, which is a blade that has waves in it to cut deeper wounds in enemies. It was also a weapon believed to be used by alot of Asian warriors (according to the show).
And suddenly I understand why Shan Yu from Disney’s Mulan had a wavy sword. I always thought he just warped it or something and him being the big bad, it looked kool. Plus it gives it a distinct look compared to all the straight edges sword used by the military. Nah turns out he’s a bloodthirsty mofo, as we knew. And he likes to take bigger chunks out of people than a regular sword would allow.
Lovely. Kudos to Disney for that research tho.
