Dave’s eyes were glued to a blue and white sign, entitled ‘RESTROOM’, for such a long period of time that he’d almost stared a hole straight through it. Well, not really; but that’d be a pretty cool (albeit useless in quick to act situations) ability, probably only used for unfavorable means. Now that he thought on it in more detail, it’d would be a pretty shitty power that would cause far more destruction than any sort of good. Even so, he’d wasted twenty-two minutes on the laser stare possibility and the person who entered about that long ago had not yet left. Either they were “busy,” or that was a port-a-door and they were somewhere on the other side of town. While he hoped the transporting doors were here predominantly for the purpose of convenience, it would mean They were also here; which would not be convenient at all.
Arms crossed as he repeatedly clicked his tongue. Dave glanced at the person beside him and murmured, “I’ll give you twenty bucks to go in there.” He understood it was a strange request, but who could turn down twenty dollars? The doors didn’t work for everyone, but he didn’t understand the rules of this city; it could work, and that was important.
“I know that sounds weird but I’m like ninety percent sure no one’s in there, so.. easy money, right?” If this guy didn’t come out within ten minutes, it meant he’d be transported to another part of the city. Dave would know if They were here without alerting Them he’d know, and he’d get to keep the twenty dollars he already didn’t have.
