Sonic.Exe exists in the Morpheus Shadow AU. It's an old urban legend/spooky story that gets spread around every year around Halloween. Everyone tells it slightly differently, and nobody is sure who started it. Well, nobody but Monarch. They heard a few retellings while doing holiday shopping around the city and it didn't take long for her to notice they weren't just describing a fictional monster, they were describing him. Somewhere in the centuries long game of telephone retelling Metal Sonic's numerous crimes the detail of him being a robot was lost, his led screen with optical sensors became black eyes with blood red pupils, his yellow painted hands with steel claws became dirty gloves with boney fingers, his jet fueled flight became supernatural levitation. Of course she doesn't immediately just go around bragging about being the Boogeyman of countless campfire stories, but they do get a fun idea for a Halloween costume.
