What would your main morphs be, based on what's available in your area? [Zoos, exc count.] What about regardless of area?
Ooooo, this is a tough one. I suppose that logically it depends on what I’d be doing with the morph, but let’s go the obvious and say I was suddenly a soldier fighting an secret invasion of aliens with no one to guide me, right? :P
For practical purposes, I’d probably first morph a cat - they’re easy to find and pet inconspicuously, and I’m familiar with their senses and behaviors.
After that, I’d find/manufacture an excuse to go visit my ex-boyfriend, who works at a zoo within weekend-trip driving distance to me.
Then I would acquire: A daytime hawk or eagle morph, a barn owl for nighttime and because they are freaky mofos like seriously, psychological warfare material for sure. If I could wrangle it, his zoo also has a pair of tigers for a battle morph - if nothing else, I could sneak back into the zoo at night with the new bird morphs and acquire one of them. And then I would get the Fennec Fox I’ve pet before because FENNEC FOX. I’d probably also get a wolf morph there if possible - endurance predator, you know?
I’d avoid insects until I absolutely had to use them, and then base it off the use.
I’d also acquire a swan if at all possible, because swans are scary and territorial as shit and they will break you freaking bones and try to drown you. Actually - scratch that I’d go for a slightly safer option and acquire a Canada Good instead: Less likely for me to actually get killed rather than injured during the acquiring process and also less notable than a swan. Geese are freaking EVERYWHERE. And they are evil.
Also freaking everywhere: Mourning doves. They’re wary but not afraid of humans and humans are used to ignoring them. And I like mourning doves.
I’m landlocked, so it’s unlikely I’d need a water morph, but ideally I’d go for an Orca because they are like the apex of apex predators. A dolphin would be easier to get though and I’d probably wind up with a bottlenose.
You can maybe tell that I’ve thought about this question quite a bit before. :P
