Hi Rachel!!! I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your Brian/Eddie snippet :) <3 It was downright perfection and you're so right - Brian does deserve happiness. Umm, I guess I just wanted to extend a greeting as a fellow Breddie/Morrian shipper in this small fandom and was wondering if you are still interested in this pair to share thoughts over a soulmate AU I have for these two. of course i’m still interested in this pairing! it definitely is about time i rewatch s1 to reinforce my shipping, but i do still love these two :)

as for a soulmate au:

brian doesn’t think much of it when he sees the name ‘edward’ on his wrist. of course, he knows it belongs to a guy, and that doesn’t bother him - he’s known he likes both women and men since high school. he also doesn’t even consider eddie morra to be his soulmate - when the thought crosses his mind once, it’s long before the nzt fiasco. he just sees senator edward morra on tv and has a quick thought about him potentially being his soulmate, but he just laughs it off.

when he first meets morra, the thought still doesn’t cross his mind. he does feel an itching sensation in his wrist, but he assumes it’s one of the symptoms of nzt, or the immunity shot he received. morra keeps looking at him with a knowing look, as though he knows a secret he won’t tell brian, but brian doesn’t say anything. the whole situation is too confusing for him to even bother.

it’s after the assassination scare that the soulmate thing comes out. it’s not that morra comes out and tells brian he thinks they’re soulmates because he realizes how short life is - though he does strongly consider it - it’s more that brian catches a quick glimpse of morra’s soulmark and starts to connect the dots. why morra came to him the first place, why he feels they’re connected in a way and keeps pushing to team up with him. it all makes sense now - it was never really about the nzt in the first place, was it?

i don’t have an exact timeline for when they do admit to having each other’s names on their wrists, but at some point, probably sometime after the end of s1, it comes out. actually, i can see it starting with the press catching wind of the fact that senator edward morra has a male name on his wrist - maybe he tends to cover it with makeup or a watch, but one time he forgets and the cameras catch it, thus accidentally outing him. brian and his fbi team probably watch together, and rebecca and boyle look at him as though they just now realized that eddie is brian’s soulmate. brian downright denies it in front of them, but manages to arrange a meeting with eddie to talk about everything. morra starts with, “i know what this looks like, but i don’t think–” and brian just cuts him off by pulling up the sleeve of his own top, revealing his own soulmark, and morra shuts right up. “oh,” is the only thing he’s capable of saying, voice a bit breathless. brian nods, and the two fall into silence. the conversation awkwardly picks back up when morra asks how long brian’s known about this, about him being brian’s soulmate, and brian admits that it’s been several months, that he saw eddie’s soulmark back with the assassination investigation.it probably continues to be awkward and mostly silent, until brian just laughs at the weirdness of the whole situation, of the two now knowing each other for what feels like a while and never before realizing that they might be soulmates. morra admits that he’s suspected it since the beginning, but wanted the line to be crossed naturally, not by force - hence why he constantly wanted to work with brian, thinking it would make them closer. brian nods, finally understanding, and morra breathes a sigh of relief. maybe he reaches out and grabs brian’s hand, asking if it’s okay. brian says yes, and eddie smiles - it’s the first time in a long time that brian saw him do that.

i’m sorry that’s kind of a weird place to end it but that’s actually all the ideas i have for now! hope it’s what you wanted :)
