Upfront right away I am not a Roblox Guy, I had an account at 14 but did not really play any games until I was like 25-26 and I still pretty much don't.
Everything here is me playing telephone with stuff I saw on the Forsaken wiki, things I know about Roblox (Studio), and ideas from other people that like 007n7/Noli/c00lkidd to turn this into sort of a personal project divorced from if not Roblox, Forsaken at bare minimum. No such thing as 'admins' and the like, but 'programming is basically magic', yes.
On Noli / Gods:
Gods come from myths (small local legends and ghosts born from hopes, dreams, fears, and stories) successfully growing in ubiquity until they become synonymous with whatever concepts they're associated with.
(The best comparison I can think of for this is how when you're in a group in or near a forest someone is gonna fucking bring up bigfoot, but also how 'the bigfoot pose' gets referenced out of context all the time, and how bigfoot as a concept means different stuff to different people that hear about it but all relate back to the core mythology)
Noli is a god, but is only a couple thousand years old. Fairly young relative to all of human history.
Gods can speak magic into existence using words that are so densely packed with meaning, nuance, and intent that they just 'happen'. The language this is spoken in is called Lua’U.
All components of a word in Lua'U are spoken at the same time, making it impossible for a single human to say anything in the language. Even entire choirs in perfect synchronization would struggle to get it right.
A myth can die off at any point due to a lack of acknowledgment, but a myth that has been actualized into a god by its notoriety is immortal even when their identity is forgotten, until people no longer acknowledge any of the concepts it is synonymous with, which is practically impossible.
Gods can change primary focuses later as perception regarding them shifts, but they will always start from something and have a few core characteristics.

Noli (who I will refer to using It/He) in particular comes from theater (more specifically the desire of many, many actors for a captive audience), and was born as an unseen presence that would sporadically react to performances and rehearsals being done at a particular location. It was seen as a good sign for the most part, as its warm reception of most performances usually led to audiences being swayed in favor of them, which in turn gave Noli more leverage to grow in scope.
Its perception by people as a sign of good luck/godly favor began to shift when it started to laugh at outright terrible performances as they were being heckled and jeered, as well as cheering on fatal accidents, earning it an association with chaos.
Over time, Noli also became associated with other concepts, such as puppetry, hedonism, and 'stealing stars' (both in the sense of holding attention, as well as literally capturing and snuffing out light) as its influence grew. Most iterations of Noli that have existed had prominent cults consisting of its favorite playwrights and actors of the time, who would perform days or even weeks long productions specifically for its amusement. Those who did well were rewarded with luxurious indulgences of all kinds, and those who did not did not survive long enough to disappoint a second time. Its followings were not often particularly large or well known, but highly devoted.
Noli goes through waves of sleep and explosive activity spurred by boredom. After its last cult failed to entertain sufficiently some time in the 1600s, it completely abandoned its followers and fell dormant, only springing back up as a stiff, hollow, and nearly mindless mass of stardust sometime in the mid 2000s long after it was forgotten.
This new iteration was hungry for identity; someone or a group of people to perceive it through fresh eyes, catch it up with the current culture, and shape its latest performance for the next few hundred years while it soaked in the new forms of drama that had sprung up in its absence.
Unfortunately, it met That Guy on a certain college campus, and became kind of a weird memelord shit.
