Natri

Natri is a usually overtly cheery and energetic individual, always trying to please and help everyone. Natri has IED and it can cause him to have rage filled outbursts. He feels bad afterwards and tries to make up for it by helping others, especially by being a tailor. They are appreciated in their community and others try to help him with his anger issues as much as possible.

Making a side blog for the book I’m hoping to one day write. The book is titled Morrowmere, and the blog is @writing-morrowmere. The book is a high fantasy otherworld setting (think Alice and Wonderland crossed with like DnD). I will be posting about the different characters and places and that on the Writing Morrowmere blog. Also a part of that blog will be community questions, a hugely important part of Morrowmere as a setting is going to be representation of minority groups, and so in writing about it, I want advice from the people who I aim to represent and their various experiences.

Vienna the Night Witch

Vienna is a powerful and ancient magic user, she harness the natural magic of the night and moon to weave spells into existence. She is the oldest living magic user in Morrowmere, the leader of a coven of ancient witches and she is also Desi’s adoptive mother. She is kind and caring, raising them from a young age in their small home within the Dark Forest. She is aware of their murderous tendencies and tries to steer them towards killing morally bad people. She is dyslexic, and also anosmic (can’t smell).

Magic in Morrowmere

There are two schools of magic in Morrowmere: Verbal and Material.

Material magic utilizes the natural magical energy of Morrowmere. Nearly everything in Morrowmere has magic infusing it and the people of Morrowmere can harness this. Some people use this through channeling the natural power of the elements, harnessing the might of crystals or plants. This magic is most commonly used to make physical objects like magical equipment or potions or the like.

Verbal magic has a greater possibility for power in comparison to Material magic, but also much greater risk. Verbal magic harnesses raw imaginative power in tandem with the infinite might of magic, but to cast it one must speak it into action. Magic can interpret some of it, but the more complex of a result you want, the more complex and specific you must be.

Anyone can do magic, in fact nearly everyone does but to truly wield magic takes a lot of practice and effort. it also takes respect. Magic in Morrowmere is a sentient and powerful entity, one which lives alongside and in symbiosis with the people who inhabit this world. Magic's sentience often leads to quirks developing, like families sharing magic they've figured out eventually turning into an entire family line being exceptional at that type of spell because the magic sought to help them with the thing they did.

While it is a symbiotic relationship and the magic seeks to help the people who inhabit Morrowmere, there are historic accounts of individuals who believed they could control magic, and do whatever they wanted, only for the magic to become petty and spiteful and disrupt them in every way it could.

Zeke

Zeke is a transmasc Thunderbird alchemist. He doesn't want to physically transition, despite being able to and really likes how he looks. Zeke works as an alchemist in Sevitey city as well as being an accomplished Material Mage.

Isyander Rework

Reworked Isyander's Heroforge model after someone in the community (I cannot for the life of me find who the original model maker is, though credit for this rework goes to them) made a Jellyfish Merfolk model.

Monica

Monica is a very silly individual. She’s a 3’ 4” bisexual satyr woman. She’s on her third divorce. She’s an alcoholic. She’s a burnt out gifted kid. She is essentially the protagonist of a Noir Detective novel in a high fantasy setting. She has an inner monologue like a Noir Detective, and sometimes she thinks out loud and gets weird looks because it’s a noir detective style monologue. She’s always getting into fights. She has one arm and has just figured out how to fight and survive without it. She has two kids who love her very much. She is almost always either working or sleeping, the reason she works so much is because she is making sure her kids can live good lives. She has a dart board she taped the pictures of her awful exes too and then almost never actually hits the board.
