Milo: Illusions. Milo would want to multitrack EVERYTHING, but school admin would say 'absolutely not. you are only allowed to use magic types that cannot cause any damage to people or property. Illusions."
Melissa: Abominations. Academically rigourous + very good combatative magic makes it the perfect track for her. I think she'd probably want to multitrack, but I haven't figured out what else she'd do.
Zack: Zack would be a transfer from Glandus or St Epiderm, fleeing from his ~dark past~, and he'd go into Beastkeeping, a track he shows absolutely zero aptitude for. His ~dark past~ will eventually be revealed to be that he was in the Bard track at his old school. Melissa will tease him about this.
Bradley: Plants. He'd muse lengthily about cruel ironies.
Amanda: Abominations. It's pretty academically tricky and requires a certain degree of precision by all accounts, as well as the track colours matching Amanda's colour scheme, so I think it works. If she's allowed to multitrack, I think she'd add Healing as well--it just feels right. Plus, Healing is necessary if you're going to deal with Murphy's Law regularly.
Mort: Oracle. He wants to hear what the universe is saying to him.
Chad: Oracle. All the better for seeing dead people, and identifying vampires all around you.
