          ah, fuck.

there was something about the look in her eyes. her downcast gaze. something was off. and while renji wasn’t the best giver of advice, the best person to get an opinion from - he did care deeply about her. he wanted to see her smile. he wanted to see the way the light sparkled in her eyes, shining, glimmering views of crystalline glacial hues.

“... hey, beautiful,” he whispers, leaning down to give her a kiss to the top of the head. “what’s on your mind?”
