so uhhh i don't really have any interest in writing on tumblr anymore?? not at the moment anyway, and if i were to come back it'd probably be with brand new blogs. i write pretty much exclusively on discord now, so mutuals if you wanna write with me hit me up there or ask me if you don't have me added already.

i most likely won't be using my current blogs anymore, if my lack of activity wasn't already enough of an indication. i just don't have as much time to keep up with running blogs or even for writing in general, so keeping it in servers/dms has just been 700x easier for me lmao. i'll leave everything up because i couldn't bear to delete all my headcanons and you might still be able to contact me here from time to time but uhhhh discord is your best shot right now

ʙᴇᴄᴏᴍᴇsʜɪᴇʟᴅ​:

                   maybe it’s rude to laugh. he’s not sure. he doesn’t know the specifics on wizard magic, believe it or not. qrow seems to take it in stride, though. something tells jaune qrow would let him get away with quite a few things considering their history, but he’s not the type to take pot shots without a reason. 

                  “hnn,” he makes a noise to indicate the man has been heard, giving a soft nod before glancing at the round he holds between his fingers. it seems so mundane, and yet it makes qrow think of his niece, “she talks about you a lot,” he says, “her and ruby both.”

          there’s a fond smile on his lips, small but very present, from the moment he brings up his niece--it’s something that happens instantly every single time, and it always has with both yang and ruby. it’s almost impossible not to feel that familiar, pleasant warmth in his chest when he’s talking about his family, especially when he feels safe to show just a little bit more vulnerability. jaune isn’t his friend, but at least he can trust him with this.

          “heh. only the good things, i hope,” he responds rather casually, closing his fist around the casing once again and slipping it into his pocket, “not that they’d ever have it in ‘em to talk down on me.”

ʙᴇᴄᴏᴍᴇsʜɪᴇʟᴅ​:

                 jaune’s feelings toward qrow were mixed, at best, and he’s not done much about hiding this fact, either. for ruby and yang’s sake, he works with qrow. and from his own instinct, he knows qrow is an asset. so they work fine together. however, that didn’t mean he’s forgotten what the man has done. 

                  “a shell casing?” he knows what one is, he’s more asking as to why the man has kept it in the first place. there’s not use for it now, it’s essentially trash. but…well. birds and shiny things. jaune feels a chuckle bubble out of him before he can remind himself he’s trying to be angry for no reason, “do you always pick up things like that?”

          there’s always a very obvious unspoken tension between them, something that qrow has never tried to pry at--he gleaned just about all he needed to know about jaune’s opinion of him that night around the campfire where he first told them everything, and he can’t imagine it’s changed all that much in his time with them. recently, maybe, but at the very best they’re simply tolerating each other right now.

          and he still forgets, sometimes, that they know about his gift. it’s a secret he’s kept for so long that it isn’t often he actually gets to explain his odd habits truthfully, but he hears jaune laugh and he knows it’s that realization made for himself. “not always,” he rolls his eyes lightheartedly, lifting the shell casing up slightly to hold it in front of himself between his thumb and forefinger, examining it fondly, “but i want to show it to yang. thought she might find it interesting.”

ʀᴇʙᴏʀɴɢʀɪᴍᴍ​:

Clover scoffs, arms crossed as he turns away, pouting.

“I don’t want your stupid… what is it?” He glances back, eyes narrowed at the item Qrow held. Not interested, Qrow better not get the wrong idea. Just … curious. 

          he scoffs, closing his hand around his treasure and holding it to his chest. is it valuable? no. a secret? nope. but he won’t miss an opportunity to antagonize the grimm when he sees it.

          “none’a yer business.”

ʙᴇᴄᴏᴍᴇsʜɪᴇʟᴅ​:

                   maybe he’s been trying to ignore the old crow for the majority of their convoy, but the dead silence on the tundra is hard to ignore after awhile. eventually, arc gives in to curiosity, and leans over to look, “what’d you find?”

          corvid blinks, his own gaze a little curious as it lifts from his treasure to glance in jaune’s direction--has this kid ever talked to him without having to? not in a while, he’s sure, but then again he can’t really blame him.

          qrow clears his throat awkwardly, opening his hand to reveal the object in his palm, “a shell casing,” it’s spent, but the metal is still surprisingly pristine, glinting a little bit in the sunlight that cuts through the window into the van’s cabin, “it held a dust round, once. probably fire.”

The Grimm’s attention zeroes in on the shiny thing in Qrow’s hand, and before he can stop himself, or even really think about it, his own hand shoots out to bat at it.

          qrow’s paranoid situational awareness grants him an incredibly quick reaction time, and as soon as he catches clover’s fingers in the corner of his vision he’s jerking his hand in the opposite direction and shooting the grimm a glare. “hey, buzz off. go find your own.”

          “um... what?”

          carmine hues blink rapidly a couple times in disbelief, the corvid taking just a second or two to process the words said to him before his face flushes a soft pink. it’s certainly not the first time he’s received a compliment, but this one is a lot more sincere than what he’s used to--clover almost sounds like he’s in awe of the avian, and that’s something that qrow hasn’t felt from someone else in a very, very long time. as soon as he realizes that he hasn’t really reacted yet, he attempts to regain his composure and ignore the way his heart has started hammering in his chest.

          the huntsman clears his throat awkwardly, hands lifting in front of him to fiddle anxiously with his rings, “are you always this straightforward, or do you just really like me?” he teases, “thanks for noticin’, by the way.”
