Oliver’s a somewhat hopeless romantic, adores all the traditional side of things and, to tell the truth, has always had the money to indulge his adoration of the more lavish displays. Grand gestures are his thing; surprises involving exotic holidays in five-star hotels, or dinners with the best of views. He’s never been very good remembering the small things; he seldom even texts back, he just forgets, and can occasionally be unknowingly selfish. But he’s a sucker for the elaborate lifestyle, and is always, always eager to spoil his partner. He’s a 0-60 in half a second, kind of guy - there’s very little chance for anything in between.
Because he’s a traditionalist, because he naturally upholds the sharp and sometimes confining standards he’s known throughout his life, the more adventurous things tend to be lost on him. He’s got stubborn and persistent boundaries, and is useless when it comes to stepping out of his self-preserved and sometimes haughty confines; in that situation, he’s more than happy to be led.
He’s just a passionate man, sometimes one who seems a tad old-fashioned, but he is one that will treat his partner like a damn treasure. A gentleman with a stubborn and egotistical streak, one unafraid to pamper. He can also be a total tease; lingering touches, a stupid smirk perhaps - but that’s an entirely different point.
